Shared Ideals
For more than fifteen years, the Studio Red Design team has had the privilege of partnering with an amazing organization, World Resources Institute (WRI). WRI is a global research organization that works with governments, businesses, multilateral institutions and civil society groups to develop practical solutions that improve people’s lives and protect nature. They draw upon leading global research and insights to highlight the current state and opportunities/way forward around seven key focus areas: Food; Forests; Water; Energy; Climate; the Ocean; and Cities. WRI’s mission is to move human society to live in ways that protect Earth’s environment and its capacity to provide for the needs and aspirations of current and future generations. We share their ideals and are honored to help in this journey.
We recently completed an exciting project with WRI, assisting them in creating a landmark publication the State of Climate Action 2021. The report – a joint effort among the High-Level Climate Champions, Climate Action Tracker, ClimateWorks Foundation, the Bezos Earth Fund, and World Resources Institute – identifies 40 indicators across key sectors that must rapidly transform to address the climate crisis and assesses how current trends align with what is needed by 2030 and 2050. It also outlines the required shifts in supportive policies, innovations, strong institutions, leadership and social norms to unlock change.
Building on the existing Race to Zero aesthetics, we evolved their bold brand to work create a more accessible look for lengthy work-horse publication. We developed a powerful format to implement in record time to have this piece completed for the recent launch event on October 28, 2021. This event was joined by more than 1,100 participants, including coverage by the Guardian and Reuters. “Studio Red helped us design the Systems Change Lab’s first annual flagship report, the State of Climate Action 2021, that launched in the lead up to the international climate change negotiations in Glasgow, Scotland. Our timeline for producing this report was extremely tight and required Alston and Kevin to adapt a brand, which was developed for shorter communications materials, to meet the needs of this 250-page publication. But despite these complexities, as well as a few curveballs that arose during the design process, Alston and Kevin delivered an incredible product! Both worked incredibly hard to meet our deadlines, were incredibly flexible every step of the way, and stayed in close contact throughout. We’re extremely pleased with the final report and would gladly work with Studio Red again.”
