Need The power of a campaign lies not just in its message, but in its ability to reach every corner of the world. This was the driving force behind the recent collaboration between Studio Red Design and the International Campaign for Tibet (ICT) on the graphics for the groundbreaking "Compassion Rising" campaign. ICT works tirelessly to promote human rights, democratic freedoms, and the preservation of Tibet's profound culture, and their latest initiative is a global celebration of the Dalai Lama's 90th birthday.

The synergy between the mission-driven team at ICT and the creative expertise of Studio Red Design was evident from the start. Our design process embraced both traditional and modern methods. We began by grounding the concepts with classic creative techniques, sketching various layouts with pencil and refining initial concepts in InDesign. This deliberate, iterative approach ensured the final look was deeply considered and perfectly embodied the campaign's spirit of hope and resilience. Once the aesthetic was decided—one that was both visually arresting and universally accessible—the challenge shifted from creation to global distribution.

Empowering Global Advocacy
with Canva

The strategic decision to transition the master designs into Canva was key to maximizing the campaign’s impact. The International Campaign for Tibet has a global presence, and their materials need to be translated into various languages and deployed quickly by teams all over the world. By translating the finalized design assets from our professional software into a versatile, user-friendly platform like Canva, we achieved a crucial goal: client empowerment.

This move provides the ICT team with the unparalleled flexibility to take ownership of their campaign's visual assets. Their staff and volunteers can easily adapt and localize materials—from social media graphics and flyers to event banners—while maintaining absolute brand consistency. The design files are now instantly accessible, allowing for rapid translation into multiple languages and immediate use across different regions, ensuring the "Compassion Rising" message is heard clearly and consistently, no matter the continent. Studio Red Design's work, therefore, wasn't just about delivering a beautiful design; it was about delivering a sustainable, scalable design tool that empowers the client to continue building their own branded, impactful materials for the long term.text here.

The partnership between ICT and Studio Red Design extended to a special event: the presentation of the International Campaign for Tibet’s Light of Truth Award to Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, followed by a special screening of the documentary, “Wisdom of Happiness,” which celebrates the life and teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It was a true honor for Studio Red Design to create the official program for this significant gathering, ensuring the design reflected the reverence and power of the occasion. The ultimate highlight was seeing our work held in the hands of global advocates like the distinguished honoree Nancy Pelosi and ICT Chairman Richard Gere, offering a tangible connection between our dedication to design and the vital mission of human rights and cultural preservation
