Designing Oakcrest’s Magazines
At Oakcrest, empowering young women is at the core of everything we do. As we embark on the journey of designing a magazine tailored for our vibrant community, we are guided by a vision of celebrating the strength, intelligence, and creativity of each and every girl.
One of the key elements we're incorporating into the magazine design is the use of big hero images. These striking visuals serve as powerful statements, capturing the essence of Oakcrest and highlighting the diverse talents and achievements of our students.
From captivating portraits to dynamic action shots, each hero image is carefully selected to showcase the unique personality and spirit of Oakcrest. Whether it's a snapshot of a student excelling in academics, sports, or the arts, these images serve as a visual celebration of girls' empowerment and achievement.
In addition to their aesthetic appeal, big hero images also play a practical role in enhancing readability and engagement. By breaking up text-heavy pages with visually compelling imagery, we ensure that our magazine is not only informative but also visually stimulating and engaging for our readers.
As we continue to design the magazine for Oakcrest, we remain committed to creating a publication that reflects the values and aspirations of our school community. With big hero images leading the way, we look forward to showcasing the incredible accomplishments and talents of our girls and inspiring readers both near and far.
Example of hero images used to wrap around from front to back cover of magazine. Earlier designs show magazine as a self-mailer (with address panel at top of back cover). This was eliminated in more recent redesign when the over all magazine size was enlarged and then housed in a poly bag with affixed label for mailing.
