Your challenges…
our thoughts.
Take a look at our blog where you’ll get a behind the scenes look at the how our design process works. We share examples of our sketches and finished products, as well as some fun stories about us.
Stay connected!
We’re on Video!
We have created a YouTube channel to introduce our amazing clients and the great work and missions they do and have. We will be periodically interviewing leaders of entrepreneurial concerns, educational institutions, cause-oriented business, and spiritual/wellness arenas to gain insights into how they do it, and to inform, engage, and inspire our audience and the world.
For the Love of Apples — and Design
“Look at the tree, recognize its inherent structure, and envision its growth potential." Apple tree care reminded me of design. Understand the existing framework. Identify the end goal. Work within given limitations to push creative possibilities. Everything branches from there.
Effective Imagery Matters: Few Pictures Have More Words Than…
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and I think few pictures have more words than the art of William Hogarth. Hogarth was an 18th century, English artist most famous for prints made from his paintings - prints essentially were the first form of social media... It is clear that the pictures are powerful and that they highlight how much effective imagery matters.
Grabbing Your Attention
Most books are absolutely judged by their covers. It is important to create inviting and welcoming visual introductions so that the target audience actually reads the material. After some thought, we decided to share covers of some of the favorite books we have had the opportunity to develop for our clients. We encourage you to take a look—hopefully you find something that grabs your attention!
The Magic of Intersection
This educational self-mailer has been an exciting kick-off piece to our studio’s new branding and the strategy angle that our new CFO is bringing in 2021. But more than anything this project has shown me the opportunity partnership can create, and how important it is — especially during this period of isolation — to stay connected and cultivate the synergy of supportive relationships.
Introducing Our New Lead Strategist!
“Studio Red Design has built a great brand in responding to existing unmet needs of our clients, whether annual reports, publications, mailers, etc. I would like us to move to the next level where we become an integral business partner, where we help drive strategy and approach.”
Taking a Look at Horror
The ghastly events that took place in our Capitol a few weeks ago struck me as a real-life horror movie. A good comparison would be The Purge, a movie in which all crime is legal for one day of the year. It shows an interesting take on how quickly society breaks down when all rules and consequences are taken away. Perhaps we caught a glimpse of that on January 6.
In With the New!
Out with the old and in with the new! 2021 promises to be a year of great and positive change. We have a new president and administration coming to town, and hopes of reconnecting in person with our friends and loved ones soon. To build our own momentum for 2021, Studio Red Design is making some exciting changes too that we are delighted to share with you: a new team member, a new website, a new logo, and enhanced social media outreach!
What’s Your Impact?
So, you cut down a ten-foot spruce. And now you fret too much about your Christmas tree (they are almost always farmed sustainably). It’s increasing important to recognize that trees really matter. Turn your focus to unsustainable forestry practices around the world like one of our favorite clients, Forest Trends.
Judging a Book by its Cover
So, we’ve all heard “you can’t judge a book by the cover” as an admonition when we might be rushing to judgement. This aphorism is certainly emotionally compelling but doesn’t really ring true does it?
Wishing you the very ______(superlative) of holidays!
Wow… what a year. When trying to craft this year’s holiday card, we felt it was challenging to find the right words.
Inktober 2020
October is known in the artist community as Inktober. It's a month in which artists are given a series of prompts, one for each day of the month, and then come up with a simple drawing to illustrate each word.

What Feeds You?
At the beginning of the pandemic, I realized that I needed to identify what feeds me.
Finding Yourself in Change
In my last update email I shared a bit about the launch of Big Love Yoga @ Studio Red Design. I recently had the chance to present to a group of female entrepreneurs through Her Handshake (herhandshake.com) about my experience of pivoting from a well-established design firm with many long-standing partners and clients (you great people!) to a new effort.
