Designing Big!
We had the honor to design the large-scale banners for an exhibition of Rebecca Drobis recent work documenting famers and their water/lands for American Farmland Trust and the Great Lakes Protection Fund. The banners were printed on fabric and stretched like a pillow case over the standing metal frame.
Innovate. Catalyze. Connect.
CGAP, the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor is an independent think tank dedicated to financial inclusion, working to make financial services meet the needs of poor people.
Curious Red Designs
I love making quirky, beautiful things! My design work is hugely fulfilling, but I still feel the need to make with my hands and heart.
Scepter Publishers
Studio Red Design is honored to support Scepter Publisher’s mission to find the sacred in ordinary life. Like yoga, each breath, each movement is like a prayer or devotion to connect to something deeper; this is what Scepter does with their publications. Scepter publishes and distributes Catholic books which helps orient and renew one’s heart, mind, and spiritual life. We appreciate how books engage the senses, and more than just words on a screen. Books are sacred in and of themselves.
Day of the Dead
We love the Day of the Dead! We are in awe of the colors, the craftsmanship, and the stories that wend around this special holiday. We love the connection between the past and the present created by spending some time with departed friends and family. Though you may not personally celebrate the Day of the Dead, take some time to remember those who have passed and try to bring some light into this dark time of year.
Shared Ideals
Studio Red Design partnered with World Resources Institute to design this important publication: State of Climate Action 2021. This heavily researched piece provides needed global perspectives and guidance to combat our climate crisis.
APhA Vaccine Confident
We are honored to partner with he American Pharmacists Association to create needed graphics to address our current pandemic. We created the logo, brand guidelines and social media graphics around their VaccineConfident campaign. As the voice of pharmacy, the American Pharmacists Association leads the profession and equips members for their role as the medication expert in team-based, patient-centered care.
Listening
We recently learned of the exciting work being done by the World Listening Project and the related World Listening Day on July 18 and it struck us that now, more than ever, listening was an art and skill that really matters. Listening can make the world a far better and more interesting place.
Harnessing the Sun
You all should know how important growth and change is for the team at Studio Red Design as we support our clients over decades while they respond to changing business, client, and other environments. In addition, we have a personal love of growth and change as you’ll have seen with our recent efforts to make the entire landscape around Studio Red Design edible and environmentally sustainable. Growth of plants fundamentally relies on two things: the sun and the rain. Since we cannot control the rain we took it upon ourselves recently to harness the sun and become carbon neutral (or better) through installing solar panels across Studio Red and Alston’s nearby home. Effective April 22, 2021, Studio Red Design became a net generator of power with a 13,484 kWh system that is forecast to offset 102% of Studio Red Design and the home. WooHoo!!!!!
Kind Words for Studio Red Design
Master Don shared with us his experiences of working with Studio Red, highlighting how our partnership has helped elevate both the brand of his dojo but also the business success of his organization. He delivers kind words about Studio red Design has invested in his success and become part of the JTR Jujutsu community.
Don’t Let Perfect be the Enemy of the Good
Over the years we have all heard organizations touting things like the relentless pursuit of perfection. At face value, this seems like a good and noble thing. Isn’t perfection a worthy goal? While it may be, there come real problems with spending excess time on perfection. Theron, Strategy Lead here at Studio Red Design, talks about key business risks and outcomes with allowing the perfect to become the enemy of the good and provides actionable guidance on how organizations can avoid these risks and stay relevant and timely in a rapidly changing market.
Celebrating Earth Day, Every Day
Earth Day is a great reminder to pause and celebrate nature’s gifts. We are, after all, simply a small part of this great and inter-connected system and need to find time to step away from our televisions and computers and reengage with our truest selfs. This is a time to step out from our walls, slow down, and breathe deeply to enjoy mother Earth's wonders. A time for deep gratitude to the grand Pachamama and an opportunity to reflect on her cycles and rhythms and the part we all in play in her/our future. Sending her and all of her creations BIG love from a humbled heart and a joyous spirit.
To See Things in a Seed
I am in love with seeds. The idea. The potential. The possibilities locked in such a concise space. The growth. The wonder. The mystery.
My newest passion is to make my yard as edible as possible. I have ordered heirloom seeds, rooted cuttings, and grafted trees. I have turned large areas of the yard into vegetable bed and trellised fences. I spend my evenings reading vegetable seed packets, taking notes as to which to soak and when to plant. It is calming as well as exciting to tune into mother nature’s rhythms.
Every design idea starts with such a seed.

Our Farmers, Our Water, Our Future
We had the honor of partnering with Rebecca Drobis to give form to her photo essay of farmers and conservation in the Genesee Valley. We were engaged by Rebecca and her team to serve as designers and art directors for this installation as well as to create all promotional and collateral materials. Working his her team, we culled through thousands of photos to pull out the iconic moments that tell this important and necessary story. With the help of a local printer, we are creating eight foot, life-sized banners for Rebecca’s travelling photo exhibition.
Getting to the Heart of It
We love the challenge of creating a logo. It's a special opportunity to dream of possibilities, to excavate random thoughts and connections, to connect letterforms and ideas to create something authentic and unique. A logo is about distilling the essence; telling your story so that it is understood and remembered. A logo is the mark used to lead your business identity, establish your symbol of credibility, and serve as your iconic face to the world.

Speaking of Resilience
We connect with a client we love, Neva Ingalls to discuss her practice, learn about how the pandemic has impacted her, gain insights into what she has taken away from this experience, and finally, tease out what she will do differently going forward. If you are interested in yoga, self-improvement, growth, resilience, or how to find meaning in this dark time this is a great view for you!
