The ghastly events that took place in our Capitol a few weeks ago struck me as a real-life horror movie. A good comparison would be The Purge, a movie in which all crime is legal for one day of the year. It shows an interesting take on how quickly society breaks down when all rules and consequences are taken away. Perhaps we caught a glimpse of that on January 6.

Out with the old and in with the new! 2021 promises to be a year of great and positive change. We have a new president and administration coming to town, and hopes of reconnecting in person with our friends and loved ones soon. Wow… what a year. When trying to craft this year’s holiday card, we felt it was challenging to find the right words.

October is known in the artist community as Inktober. It's a month in which artists are given a series of prompts, one for each day of the month, and then come up with a simple drawing to illustrate each word.

In my last update email I shared a bit about the launch of Big Love Yoga @ Studio Red Design. I recently had the chance to present to a group of female entrepreneurs through Her Handshake (herhandshake.com) about my experience of pivoting from a well-established design firm with many long-standing partners and clients (you great people!) to a new effort.

Working with the Women, Arts and Social Change team at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, we had the opportunity to create logo designs for Create Art for Earth.

We are honored to work with Forest Trends, an amazing (and needed) organization.

As an art history major, I love this museum and what it represents! The National Museum of Women in the Arts houses — under one big beautiful roof — a lot of the artworks I studied at UNC-Chapel Hill as an undergrad. It is an honor to partner with NMWA.

We are in awe of the honest truth that Greta Thunberg shares with the world, through her words and actions. She speaks from her heart, and her words strike the core.

You and your organization can make a difference, and great design can make it happen. Effective design lends credibility, attracts and maintains interest; makes your voice and message heard, understood, and actualized.

It was such a treat to be on location in El Salvador! Using conversation and observation, was able to gather a lot of information about this cooperative.

It was an honor to spend time with such hard working individuals dedicated to their land and their community.
