Your challenges…
our thoughts.
Take a look at our blog where you’ll get a behind the scenes look at the how our design process works. We share examples of our sketches and finished products, as well as some fun stories about us.
Stay connected!
Recovering Voices
What a treat to work with Recovering Voices, a part of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History. Studio Red Design partnered with writer/friend Karen Rachel Brody to create the words and layout of this 8-panel closed gate brochure. Based on the available photos and decided language, realized that laying this out as a closed gate was the best way to present the information.
Making Your Message Move
With so much time spent on screens, we want to be sure you message continues to reach your target audience. Especially with our current paper shortage, it makes sense to reach out digitally.
Painting the Future
Art is something I’ve always loved. I even consider myself an artist above a graphic designer. It’s what I originally went to school for, but my anxiety and fear managed to dissuade me from pursuing it any further. I was a different person then. I’ve grown and become much more open to learning. I’ve decided to once again pursue that passion that I left long ago.
Getting Ready
During our down time over the holidays, I was able to do some deep cleaning and organizing of our “making” spaces.
Klimt vs. Klimt
With current covid concerns, it’s hard to explore the world like before. Inspired to see museums taking their knowledge and collections to online platforms to make the art readily available without leaving home. Gustav Klimt is one of my favorite artists.
Forest Trends: Impact Report 2021
I am fortunate to love what I do, and to love the individuals and organizations I work with. This is Forest Trends’ third Impact Report, an annual report that highlights the successes of their past year and call for further support in the next.
Designing Big!
We had the honor to design the large-scale banners for an exhibition of Rebecca Drobis recent work documenting famers and their water/lands for American Farmland Trust and the Great Lakes Protection Fund. The banners were printed on fabric and stretched like a pillow case over the standing metal frame.
Innovate. Catalyze. Connect.
CGAP, the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor is an independent think tank dedicated to financial inclusion, working to make financial services meet the needs of poor people.
Curious Red Designs
I love making quirky, beautiful things! My design work is hugely fulfilling, but I still feel the need to make with my hands and heart.
Scepter Publishers
Studio Red Design is honored to support Scepter Publisher’s mission to find the sacred in ordinary life. Like yoga, each breath, each movement is like a prayer or devotion to connect to something deeper; this is what Scepter does with their publications. Scepter publishes and distributes Catholic books which helps orient and renew one’s heart, mind, and spiritual life. We appreciate how books engage the senses, and more than just words on a screen. Books are sacred in and of themselves.
Day of the Dead
We love the Day of the Dead! We are in awe of the colors, the craftsmanship, and the stories that wend around this special holiday. We love the connection between the past and the present created by spending some time with departed friends and family. Though you may not personally celebrate the Day of the Dead, take some time to remember those who have passed and try to bring some light into this dark time of year.
Shared Ideals
Studio Red Design partnered with World Resources Institute to design this important publication: State of Climate Action 2021. This heavily researched piece provides needed global perspectives and guidance to combat our climate crisis.
APhA Vaccine Confident
We are honored to partner with he American Pharmacists Association to create needed graphics to address our current pandemic. We created the logo, brand guidelines and social media graphics around their VaccineConfident campaign. As the voice of pharmacy, the American Pharmacists Association leads the profession and equips members for their role as the medication expert in team-based, patient-centered care.
Listening
We recently learned of the exciting work being done by the World Listening Project and the related World Listening Day on July 18 and it struck us that now, more than ever, listening was an art and skill that really matters. Listening can make the world a far better and more interesting place.
Harnessing the Sun
You all should know how important growth and change is for the team at Studio Red Design as we support our clients over decades while they respond to changing business, client, and other environments. In addition, we have a personal love of growth and change as you’ll have seen with our recent efforts to make the entire landscape around Studio Red Design edible and environmentally sustainable. Growth of plants fundamentally relies on two things: the sun and the rain. Since we cannot control the rain we took it upon ourselves recently to harness the sun and become carbon neutral (or better) through installing solar panels across Studio Red and Alston’s nearby home. Effective April 22, 2021, Studio Red Design became a net generator of power with a 13,484 kWh system that is forecast to offset 102% of Studio Red Design and the home. WooHoo!!!!!
